well i have tried a number of ways of turning my old VHS into DVDs.

I found anything to do with computer capturing and burning to be very time consuming.

Using a DVD recorder is definitely the best. even better with a recorder with a hard drive. Capture the VHS to the hard drive , then do a partial delete to get rid of ads then burn off to disc , very simple and the results are fine.

Only problems the recorder will not touch copy protected tapes so I guess the PC is the only way round this. I have heard those new USB capture devices work great very simple and come with software.
