If the thing is just a couple of BD25 single layers sandwiched back to back then it would be a total waste of time. Sharp is putting the finishing touches on their new BD-100 laser which opens the possibility of manufacturing triple layer BD75 and quad layer BD100 discs. I assume this laser system would operate on the basis of creating single sided discs instead of any flipper nonsense. BD75 and BD100 capability might be useful for authoring full color 3D movie discs. I think video quality would be due to take a serious hit if a two 1080p streams of a 2 hour movie were crammed into one BD50. The extra capacity a BD50 disc provides seems to make the difference on many movies having good video quality on Blu-ray versus unimpressive quality. Very few BD25 movie discs have top notch quality video.  |  IP: Logged
