> how badly does News Corp need that annual fee Cablevision pays for Fox and My9.
Actually, FOX is losing a lot more money due to decreased viewership and the resulting loss of advertising revenue. This is why FOX should be paying Cablevision to carry their channel.
While no great fan of Cablevision, this is one instance where their interests and ours are in agreement. Ultimately, we will end up paying for whatever cost increases. We all know that Cablevision will not be eating this. There is NO reason why we should be forced to pay for free over the air broadcasts because we chose to watch them on cable. On the other hand, their is no reason why Cablevision should be allowed to make a profit by retransmitting basic cable channels, other than infrastructure costs.
Frank, you seem to be arguing both sides of the fence. You say Cablevision doesn't understand how American Capitalism works, and at the same time you are arguing for forced arbitration, which by the way, Cablevision wants.
I also not that nobody has mentioned that FOX broadcast has been off of DISH network for the last few weeks, over the same fee dispute.
