Ayakawa Film God Posts: 2738 From: Waipahu, Hawaii, USA Registered: Aug 2002 posted 02-13-2015 06:09 PM                        Twilight Time recently released Stanley Kramer's JUDGMENT AT NUREMBURG on blu ray but their discs are over priced in my opinion so I watched a dvd of the movie I bought many years ago the other night and I was amazed how great it looked. Because the disc was not enhanced for 16X9 anamorphic, the picture did not fill my forty inch screen but that was ok. The movie running time is three hours and six minutes long and there were some added bonus features with a playing time about forty five minutes on the dvd but despite that, the picture quality was great and looked like I was watching a blu ray. Movies like JUDGMENT AT NUREMBURG as well as THE DIARY OF ANN FRANK, THE YOUNG LIONS , THE LONGEST DAY and other great B&W films of the lfifties and the sixties make me wish more films would be made in that format today. - Claude  |  IP: Logged Steve Matz Jedi Master Film Handler Posts: 672 From: Billings, Montana, USA Registered: Sep 2003 posted 02-13-2015 10:28 PM                     A couple of Hit Movies that Paul Newman made "THE HUSTLER" & "HUD" were in B&W. I think The Hustler was appropriate for B&W being in a Pool Hall setting; however I believe HUD could have been filmed in Color and achieved the same or better success !  |  IP: Logged
