Does this mean they put a GT system on an elevator? I'm trying to picture how that would work and I can't. Does anyone here know how they did that? I would assume they have to change lenses between formats. Yes, Imax has a 3D Dome technology called "Solido". Not many installs, though.  |  IP: Logged Dave Macaulay Film God Posts: 2321 From: Toronto, Canada Registered: Apr 2001 posted 04-15-2005 09:59 AM                     The projection point is the same whether the dome or flat screen is used - the projector is on an elevator just like a dome-only system. The lenses would be different, and probably the optical centres of the lenses would be shifted to match the image centre change between flat and dome films. With the active glasses 3D could be shown on either screen, a silver screen is not needed (although some flat screen 3D Imax screens are silver and use projector polarizers as well as the alternating lens shutters/liquid crystal glasses for reduced ghosting).  |  IP: Logged
