"the scaler/switcher our satellite guy found was $350" I did not post a link to this particular scaler however, because it has been discontinued by Gefen. As I am afraid any reputable equipment manufacturer will be coerced to do anytime they sell anything non-HDCP compliant. I'm sure HDFury is under pressure, but seeing as that is all they sell, they would not pull it from the market. To be clear in my head, you are not defeating the HDCP you are simply working around it. The cable box is saying, "whoa, no compliance, output sucky 720i" and you have a scaler in place that interpolates it back to 1080p.
