OK, now I see your point, although I don't agree. Even though I have not been keeping a running tally of who on this forum thinks patrons are uber-stupid, I would just venture a guess that most everyone here would not only treat patrons in their theatres with courtesy and respect, but everyone else as well.
I think you are not realizing that just because one can recognize and even laugh at the stupidity of some people, it doesn't mean they would be treated with anything but courtesy. On the inside wall of our boxoffice, the staff over the years has posted what have become famous patron quotes; some are hilarious, some even baffllingly moronic. Than not withstanding, if any staff member were to treat a patron with even a hint of sarcasm or discourtesy, they would be fired on the spot.
As for the members here, I recall a number of posts were quite a few of us loudly bemoan the fact that in the service industry of late, customer service seems to be woefully lacking across the board.
So although now I see what you meant about us no longer working in the customer service business any longer, I think you are making an over generalization about the guys/gals here and I disagree.
Besides, most of us only rarely get to engage with living patrons; management keeps us up in an enclosed, soundproof booth with the door locked so that we are totally isolated from the public. Every once in awhile, management throws in some raw meat at feeding time. So as you can imagine, our people skills -- other than occasionally mistaking a patron's arm or leg for food -- can be quite lacking.
All kidding aside, Anselm, sorry about your job. Hope you find something soon.
