In response to John Wilson's reply above, i hunted down a package that allows windows to read the USB drives (USB are linux format) it is an Ext2 Volume manager Link: http://www.ext2fsd.com/ I originally installed it because our QUBE server would not show us what was on a USB after we ingested a file, only shows what has NOT been ingested. And as we often send our trailers between sites, we needed to know what was on certain drives. Hopefully it will help some of you guys aswell. I followed it to the letter and tested with a Dolby server and although it did recognize the title of the clip properly, it wouldn't load up. What did you rename it? Did you keep the 'hash'? They kept it hush-hush back then. Then it became *chic*, and everybody was codenaming everything they worked on all the time, with no apparent point to it, right along with publishing full details. When it's set to go to the exhibitor though, then that's the time to put on it what it really is. I have about 50 trailers on my servers. Can you imagine the amount of extra work I would have to go to if they were all codenames? And I don't mean by re-naming them all either. I have to keep a separate file documenting what the codenames represent and it's a pain in the ass that I don't believe is necessary in any way whatsoever.  |  IP: Logged Lindsay Ross Film Handler Posts: 3 From: Melrose, Roxburghshire.
