I figured there had to be a "proper" way.

For my HD projector, I had / have a nice steel AV cart which I modified with a platform at the top to get it to the right height (and to accommodate the original Electrohome unit which had a huge footprint; the later Panasonic is a lot smaller; both 3-DLP). Also added additional shelves.

What I wanted to do for DC was to get a 2nd identical stand, bolt them together with spacers (to leave room for wheels to swivel without clashing) and make one large platform at the top. A little give between stands would take care of any floor imperfections. But despite a lot of searching I could not find the same stand nor anything even similar. I gave up and built what's in the photo.
