Author Topic: "DLP Ack Fail" message after changing ICP board on NEC NC2000C Leo Enticknap Film God Posts: 7474 From: Loma Linda, CA Registered: Jul 2000 posted 01-20-2015 12:09 PM                        I've just had the "Error 120 DLP Ack Fail". Rebooting the projector cleared it, but I'm a little worried. Can anyone tell me where to download the latest software/firmware for the projector? It's an NEC NC3240S, currently on the following: BIOS - 0.75 Firmware - 4.204 Cinema board - Release prod 4.1.1 It certainly hasn't been updated since I was hired last April. Although I'm loathe to apply software updates just for the sake of it (because of the small risk that the flash update will fail, and the significant risk that the new software will introduce as many new bugs as it fixes old ones), the consensus of this thread seems to be that this error is a wake-up call to do it, and also I noted Carsten's suggestion that subtitled DCPs, which we show frequently, often won't work without the latest server and projector software in use. I can't find it anywhere on Google or nec-display.com. Is it the same deal as with Dolby's support site, i.e. you need to register first on a site that Google won't find? The most current version is 4.215. Note, since you are on ICP 4.1, I'd do the update to get rid of that alone. 4.2.437 is current and is VERY stable (the most stable ICP since 3.2.340). Strong currently has NEC 4.214 on their site. Some here are sticking with 4.212 due to a "feature" TI recommended to NEC to use a 50% grey pattern when the lamp is off...which can stay on. There seem to be multiple NEC sites, none of which have an obvious support/downloads link (and I can't see one on Strong's site, either). The only files I can find are PDF sales brochures.
