I'm working a Film Festival right now where we've accepted 5 BD titles. Most are custom burns for Festival use (and the one that isn't has damn trailers 'hardlocked' to the beginning!), and every time I see one it scares the crap out of me. I just do not trust optical disc as a commercial playback medium. And sure enough, at least one of the titles 'glitched' 3 times during it's only screening the other night, even though it had been previously run through the same player for checking when it arrived a few weeks earlier.

It seems the distribution pattern is similar here in NZ, some smaller art-house distributors will consider BD for exhibition to certain small theatres, but none of the Mainstream Studio content is available as BD...

As Bobby mentioned, I can see the benefit/enticement for someone to use these for Catalog titles, and when well mastered and played through a DCP projector they can look good, but ultimately they're just not reliable enough if you are showing to a paying audience...
