Second, I got this info from Dolby, and I received KDM's for updating, without any questions what version am I running on DSS100/DSP100. Third, yes, of course I can be wrong. Posts: 12814 From: Annapolis, MD Registered: Dec 1999 posted 11-27-2012 06:35 AM                     As one that has HAD to charge for a DSS100/DSP100 update to have it communicate with current systems (and yes it was DSS200s) I said what is FACT...what you claim "may not be universally true" which does not imply you made anything up. It does imply that I can cite a case in point where your statement does not work for everyone and everywhere. The difference between DSS200 and DSS220 would not factor into this. Where I ran into this was in a VPF situation where the customer was forced to update to Dolby 4.4.0.48 for DCI compliance...the lone DSS100/DSP100 had to go to 4.3.7 if it wanted to be on the same Jupiter Client and have full content transferability (be on the same system) as the rest of the plex. Your case was a DSS220 that has to run on system 4.5 and beyond. It is the same problem. It is great that they gave it out for free...I hope they get to a point where they don't charge for upgrades to their own products. The "compatible" version is 4.3.7 or 4.3.9 (current). Since they are not DCI compliant, my guess is that they will run Cinelink2 DH. Dolby is clear that the DSS100/DSP100 is not DCI compliant at this time. Even if the DSS100/DSP100 is updated to 4.5 it remains non-compliant...the DSP100 version is the same for 4.3.9 and 4.5.x. At this point, all of my DSP100s are running Cinelink 2 TLS on series 1 projectors. Once I heard about the pending change and Gore board requirements...I decided to make the switch to see if I had any "problem" units before it became a crisis. I asked several times since version 4.4.x came out, if DSS100 will be able to run this and later versions. The answer was positive, and I'm successfully running versions 4.5.2.5 and 4.5.3.5 on two DSS100/DSP100 systems.  |  IP: Logged Steve Guttag We forgot the crackers Gromit!!! If 4.4 was compatible, there would have been zero need for 4.3.7 or 4.3.9.
