Please, don't switch to Osram, the only thing that is really good is their warranty (since they replace almost all their lamps that don't reach their proper hours and at the cinema where I work it is about 90% that don't reach that amount). We used to have problems with lamps in just 3 booths (2 of them with 3K lamps and Osram has already admitted that those lamps are not up to their standards) but since the recent firmware updates from the Barco's (that claim the lamps can burn longer) we have had problems in almost all booths. The lamps from Osram are crap! In case you are wondering, we keep the lamp on if the time between shows is less than 20 minutes because that is what the engineering department at Osram Netherlands told us.  |  IP: Logged Marco Giustini Film God Posts: 2713 From: Reading, UK Registered: Nov 2007 posted 05-10-2013 03:49 PM                     I was not aware that a firmware upgrade could affect the lamp's life. There is also the new lamps that are introduced...like the Ushio "L" series.
