This is being run through a patch panel to a six channel input of a CP500. Unfortunately, Bluray discs very rarely come with anything except a DTS English track(every other language seems to have a dolby track though). The main issue I am running in to is that the JSD-80 only has two 8 channel inputs which are being used by my digital and film projector. There are also two coaxial inputs, but that only works if the disc has a Dolby track. I have three different DTS processors to work with; a generic Kenwood audio receiver, a Klipsch Promedia DD-5.1, and a DTS XD10. I do have extra terminal blocks so I could send the coax to the kenwood receiver, then use the speaker outputs from the receiver to goto a terminal block and unplug the terminal block from the back of the JSD-80 and go straight from the kenwood to the amps, but that seems like a silly idea I don't like having to essentially unhook our process every time we run a bluray. I have a DB25 to XLR break out cable, my current plan is to make a few RCA to XLR cables and go from the Bluray player to the Promedia with coax, then from the promedia to the DB25 cable with the RCA to XLR cables I will make, then to a DB25 switch that will take both my 35mm DB25 and this DB25 breakout cable and send that to my JSD-80. Can anyone think of a better way? I tried using the XD10 in SPIDF mode, but got no output to the JSD-80 from it( I went from the bluray player to the XD10 through coax, and then to one of the coax inputs on the JSD-80 from the XD10 hoping the XD10 would send a decoded signal, but it didn't work). Obviously I'm try to keep the cost down for this otherwise I would just buy a new cinema processor and call it a day.  |  IP: Logged Carsten Kurz Film God Posts: 4340 From: Cologne, NRW, Germany Registered: Aug 2009 posted 07-15-2014 07:42 PM                     It's a common problem with many audio processors, except the AP20. One option is to use DolbySurround/Prologic on the analog or PCM stereo outputs and enable matrix decoding on the AP20 input. Sooner or later you may want a switch between BluRay 8ch and 35mm analog input. Why do you use the 8ch input of the JSD80 for your film projector, when the JS80 can do the optical track decoding? Sorry, of course this should read 'enable matrix decoding on the JSD80 input'. The AP20 will do dts over S/P-DIF and Toslink, and DTS HD over HDMI, in addition to AC3/DD. - Carsten  |  IP: Logged
