This all sounds like you guys don't run your NC-900's on any sort of UPS... If you did cutting the power @ the breaker would cause the UPS to kick in. You don't need a very large UPS for the entire projector to be on it, especially if you run it on 220 volts. So with UPS you're gonna need to power on and off voa the server or via DCC on the network.

Once the installation is finished, it will be on a UPS, together with the server, because they used to have power problems there. It's a small screen, no 3D, and the unit is slightly over-bright running only one lamp, so, a UPS is no big deal.

You can even run both lamps on a 2kva 220 volt ups and still have some run time. I have about 30 installations doing that. They are all running SX-3000's though which only adds about 15 watts draw on top of the pojector. Only one site has separate servers (DSS-100) with the NC-900's and those pairs are running on a separate UPS because they draw so much power.

The NC900C follows the series 2 (which it is) so it is TCP port 43728.
Thanks Marcel and Steve, this actually worked!

I created a new RAW device NC900_On_Off on the Doremi and configured it to use the NC900C's IP address and port number 43728.

I then created two macros NC900_On and NC900_Off containing binary (actually hex) messages '020000000002' for On and '020100000003' for Off, then created 'links' to these macros on the control-panel tab in addition to the existing lamp on/lamp off, douser close/douser open buttons.

Works exactly as it should. After main power has been applied to the NEC from the wall breaker and the Doremi has booted into Cinelister, staff will go to the control tab first and power up the NEC using this button.

I also can now power down the projector automatically after the show in the playlist.
When staff is finished with their work, the projector has already cooled down and can be switched off from standby mode with the wall breaker again.

We have removed the ladder from the booth now ;-)

Alternately, a network cable could have been run to somewhere convenient but isolated from the public that had a small notebook/netbook/desktop computer with DCC for S2, and it could be easily controlled as well.
