The problem has resurfaced and it appears that a new light engine will need to be installed. I am assuming a rebuilt can be used? Can anyone give a ballpark figure on cost for the part? And can anyone give an idea of downtime and how long it will take to install? Pros and cons between a rebuilt or new light engine? Thousands. Christie may be able to repair it. Individual parts are generally not available - but if it's a formatter board failure (sounds likely) these can possibly be replaced. Some diagnosis may be possible by swapping cables or parts about in there, but that shouldn't be tried unless you have some experience or training. There are several CP2000 models - S, SB, ZX, M ... it makes a difference, as I don't believe they all used the same exact light engine. If it's a CP2000M, I may have a light engine. This is the "small" one, like a home video projector on steroids. The ZX is bigger but still a "table top" unit. As Randy said, take a picture.
