Author Topic: Somebody isn't happy with Lionsgate Marlon Martins Film Handler Posts: 78 From: Torres, RS, Brazil Registered: Apr 2015 posted 11-19-2015 06:35 PM                     the theater i've helped with the audio have constant problems with keys. they send the movie the day prior, but the keys most of them arrive at the presentation day. terminator salvation they send the day after it was supposed to be screened. Mockingjay pt2 was supposed to be shown at 4pm, but the key arrived at 7pm, and locked till 8pm. there was kids piling up at the door waiting to see the movie. most of the times there's no time to test the movie before presentation. they complain, but "they don't care" apparently.  |  IP: Logged Monte L Fullmer Film God Posts: 8367 From: Nampa, Idaho, USA Registered: Nov 2004 posted 11-20-2015 03:30 AM                     I'd plan on Disney doing the same for the Thurs Premiere of Star Wars: Having separate premiere keys for the Thurs releases that will unlock just short hours before screen time, then expire after 4am or similar. Then .. Getting the regular engagement keys that will unlock content short hours prior to Friday openings. This above is a wild guess, thus please don't take it as gospel, but after our experiences with the dual keys for "Jay-2," since we had the marathon, I'm getting prepared for next month's massive chaos. -Monte  |  IP: Logged Mike Blakesley Film God Posts: 12767 From: Forsyth, Montana Registered: Jun 99 posted 11-20-2015 12:17 PM                        Why in the world would they need separate keys for the "premiere?" Our Mockingjay key opened yesterday at noon, and we opened the movie "early" last night and will use that same key for the whole first 2 weeks. Sony unlocked Spectre an hour before it's nationwide 8pm release here and asked us to check the film. We aren't going to keep a screen empty for an hour in the school holidays. It's madness. And this is its second week of release, so they aren't giving me a whole lot of extra time there either. Funny you mention that, we just got out keys for The Good Dinosaur late this afternoon and the first showing begins in a hour. Obviously that caption was added in 2015. No different than me anxiously awaiting the bus to arrive back in the day. At least now, if the key doesn't show up you can get on the phone and have another one in ten minutes.
