Author Topic: Help: Doremi DCP2000 wont boot Adrian Avram Film Handler Posts: 45 From: Iasi, Romania Registered: Oct 2013 posted 11-29-2015 01:46 AM                     That LED not being lit, means no 5V standby present. If you want to rule out the power supply, you could measure (backprobe) with a multimeter (if skilled enough) on the 24 pins connector from the motherboard (near the RAM slots), between pin 9 (5VSTB) and any of the GND pins, to see if that voltage is present, first with the connector out of the MB, then with the connector inserted.. If it is not present, some shorted component from the MB could pull that voltage to ground, thus no boot.  |  IP: Logged Hsin-ning Chang Film Handler Posts: 12 From: Athens, OH, United States Registered: Sep 2008 posted 11-29-2015 05:21 PM                     Hm. The 5V presented fine when the connector is not connecting to the motherboard. Then, when connected to the motherboard, the meter number was really low (even minus). So, that means there is a short took the voltage away, and the main issue still on the MB, right? Thank you very much again Adrian!! I believe these information will help us to talk to Doremi tomorrow. Hope this situation can be solve soon... Thank you for all the tips and suggestions! Luckily we are still in our 3-year warrantee (phew~), so once Doremi got our request on Monday morning, they overnight a replacement to us. When the technician came to install, he first pointed out that the green lights behind the power supply were not lit and suspected if the supply went bad. Yet, I reported what Adrian suggested us to test to him. He saw the 5V was there when the 24 pin wasn't connected to the MB too. So, we are not sure why the green light were off. To reflect on this nightmarish incident, I think our team should find a better way to control the temperature in the booth, and do better on dust control as well.... Are there any other things we should watch out to lower the chance of a MB failure like this? Sometimes things just fail. A powersupply malfunction can also be caused by any other component in the server, basically. Maybe one thing-- one of the fans seemed to not turn very smoothly. Other then that, it looked perfectly fine. I agree that things sometimes just get bad without obvious cause. At the same time feeling that this could be a warning for us to improve our booth's conditions. We do really appreciate the assistances from Doremi, not only that they reply to my call quickly during Thanksgiving holidays, but also how fast they send the replacement to us. Glad to hear that the server is dependable. Do you hear any beeps from MB (they can point to the failing module/part)? What do they sound like (eg. 3x long beep + pause repeating)? 2. Have you checked for cooling issues? Fans inside server? Booth temperature? 3. Do you have any general voltage (over/under-voltage) problems in projection room? 4. Have you tried emergency USB? 5. Have you noticed some pop-up screens showing errors inside Doremi interface? Give us more specific details so we can help you better and faster. I had to go in to the BIOS settings afterwards and re-tell it what drive it was supposed to boot from. If you scroll back a page you'll see that I had the same problem with a Doremi last summer and one of the things I had to do was re-input the boot order & some other BIOS settings to get it to work again.  |  IP: Logged
