I actually own a light transmittance meter for measuring how clear glass is. It works on a percentage scale and it has a reference piece of glass so you can check it's accuracy before doing any measurement. I haven't used it in some years because by the time we switched all the sites over to digital we had already changed out most of the port glass that needed to be replaced.
