I guess I'm the only person who DIDNT notice the focusing problem. I was so engrossed with the story I didn't have time to notice the usual things that tick me off while watching the movie, or even the lousy theatre I saw it at. The film where I was MOST distracted by the shifting focus was DINNER RUSH. Even though i enjoyed the film, the focus was so noticable, I was about to complain to management, except that the opening credits were consistently sharp.

Now, I have not seen this film yet, but hearing everyone else complain about the focus puts my mind more at ease!
For the opening weekend, I got an earful of complaints from managment (via headphones plugged into a walkie-talkie), over the focus on Changing Lanes.
I'll admit to being almost neurotic about presentation, and I was certainly confused (not to mention annoyed) that I was told very often to re-adjust the focus.

...and flames just about shot out mf my ears following this (paraphrased) conversation on the walkies:
shift manager: maybe the lens needs to be cleaned
me: I cleaned it earlier
shift manager: ah, maybe that's the problem. streaks.

...nevermind that the Pepsi ad, policy trailers, and previews were all nicely in focus!

Gracia: My number one pet hate!

For some reason, it's never the camera crew's fault, but ALWAYS the fault of the projectionist.

That's because camera crews are perfect and infallible whereas projectionists are totally incompetent. Don't you know that it is categorically impossible for a camera lens to be out of focus?

Arrgghhhh!!!!
