Author Topic: The Girl Next door Aaron Garman Phenomenal Film Handler Posts: 1470 From: Toledo, OH USA Registered: Mar 2003 posted 04-13-2004 10:19 PM                     As much as I would have liked to see Elisha in her natural form, I think the way the film handled her being shown completely nude was excellent. It is that is hidden and not seen that make her even more attractive. Sometimes, there is nothing wrong with a tease, which is just what she gave us. It's just bullshit. If you're doing a movie involving porn actress characters and you have the flexibility of an R rating it would seem only natural to take advantage of that. Julianne Moore and Heather Graham are both serious actresses, and both got naked in "Boogie Nights." I also seem to recall Holly Hunter winning a best actress Oscar for her performance in "The Piano," a movie that included a pretty explicit looking sex scene. Please bear in mind the lack of nudity in "The Girl Next Door" is not nearly as preposterous as the premise on the whole. Maybe I'm just jaded, but I have a difficult time believing a sex pot porn actress is going to have a thing for some Joe Shmo average guy high school kid. It's just like the hooker with the heart of gold cliche. If I would have made a movie like this, I might have done it a bit differently. Perhaps take some seemingly ordinary girl someone doesn't give a second look leading a secret life as a porn startlet. That would be more interesting (more mystery, a sense of discovery, etc.) and I could see someone like that crossing paths with and perhaps even having a thing for Joe Average. I don't know. Just an idea. Porn star or not, just was just this beautiful, seemingly unreachable girl that almost every guy has had a crush on. I saw myself in that kid's shoes.
