Author Topic: New Security Measures Chad Souder Jedi Master Film Handler Posts: 962 From: Waterloo, IA, USA Registered: Feb 2000 posted 11-12-2001 05:49 PM                     We've just instituted a new policy regarding safety at our theatre. We're not allowing any bags, purses, brief cases, boxes, camera cases, wallets, Zippos, hats, coats, pants, shirts, or anything else that could potentially carry something dangerous. In fact, we're not letting people in at all. We're keeping our doors locked 24/7, and all the lights are off. We have armed guards at every door. That way we have a place for people like Zach to sit quietly and safely so they can try and understand why people hate us and what we did wrong to deserve it. We have a better shot at ridding the world of things that trigger asthma attacks than we do ridding it of people who can find a reason to hate. Increasing security on such small scales won't do anything to stop terrorism, like Joshua suggests. It just amazes me how willing people are to sacrifice their personal freedoms because they think it's what they're supposed to do to feel safer. ------------------ "Asleep at the switch?
