I believe many theaters barter for services. I remember starting out as a projectionist/colleges student typical and starving wondering why the GM and the other management staff would be constantly stuffing their faces with food all the time with the lousy pay that the industry provides. once I became head projectionist I realized that they not only traded passes but also had under the table deals with half of the recreation attraction sites in town. Pizza Hut would accept passes for pizza....McDonald's Taco Bell everyone wanted to go to the movies and their perspective managers were game. Also Q'zar<a local lazer tag> venue would let the cinema empolyees in for free to play as we would accept their empoloyees and let them in all with out passes<keeping things "off the books" if you will> And I remember a time where I was supposed to take 30 passes and trade it for a 30 foot flocked xmas tree with the xmas tree lot owner one xmas season many years ago. I believe practically all theater barter or at least have the ability to do so. I didn't quite agree with the extreme that it reached but I can see how inticing with a free trips to the movies can quickly convince even the local Samoan mafia <famous Silofi gang> as to providing with needed security <just their presence in the building was enough> from inciting other gang violence in that particular theater. No one messes with pacific islanders....noone!!!!!!
