Does this mean that we are condemned to suffer through slides and film advertising at Landmark?

One of the Landmark theatres here in San Diego, the Ken, still runs changeovers and carbon arcs (Super Simplexes and Magnarcs), the only remaining commercial movie theatre in San Diego County to do so, AFAIK.

I'm wondering if the change of ownership may spell the end of carbon arc projection at the Ken...

Thank you Mike. It just really annoys me when people post untrue information and refuse to back it up. I guess its just a pet peeve. I have sent Brad proof about what I have said regarding landmark and LCE. I cannot publicly disclose this document on the forum though as it is confidential.

These forums are here to provide factual information to our community. If someone posts false information then they should own up to it and explain where they heard it from.

Sean
I'm with Rachel, "calm down"
We work for Landmark here in Seattle and recieved info from our head office regarding this sale the same day it was announced in the press. We've heard nothing since that time as that sale is still pending.
My question is are you employed by Landmark. If not, how do you rate getting "confidential" information about this sale.
We (LTC employees) hate rumors regarding this sort of thing. We get our information from our bosses, not from someone in Salem, MA. on a website.

From Sean's user profile:

Just some info I got from a website. [Smile]

I don't know if this is the case with LCE, but some chains distribute information (about the company in general, down to every specific locations current problems) to their managers like crazy. Often to the point where you just don't want to here it anymore.

I was just joking telling Sean to calm down, he's one of my best friends, I was just giving him a hard time! I do understand why he gets so ticked off when people say things and don't back them up, especially when they are untrue and about the business that you put your life into trying to make better. Even if it is just Loews. [Razz]

Just recently, the owners of an indepent chain apparently met with the Attorney General's Office to discuss the merger of Landmark Theatres/Silver Cinemas & Loew’s circuit. The indie chain is claiming a monopoly of sorts could be made & are trying to stop the merger. Apparently, distributors are giving a very high percentage of exclusives to the merging companies as is, and if the merger goes through, smaller independent chains will not be able to compete.

It will be interesting what comes of it.
