Author Topic: Credit and Debit cards Scott Jentsch Phenomenal Film Handler Posts: 1061 From: New Berlin, WI, USA Registered: Apr 2003 posted 09-17-2003 01:01 PM                        Well, since it seems that I've gone and hijacked this thread with my concession comment, here goes... I agree that buying concessions at the box office wouldn't make sense, but that's only if you stay with the traditional way of doing things. Instead of bottlenecking everyone through one or two box office lines, only to send them to one or more concession lines, combine the two. Remove the box office, and combine the concession and box office staff, with everyone selling both. Now, instead of two lines of each, you have four lines capable of selling concessions and getting people on their way. I'd be much more likely to buy concessions if they're offered to me while I have my wallet out paying for the tickets, especially if I'm running close on time and the concession line is long. Once I heard that some theaters were selling concessions and tickets at the same time, I've never understood why more theaters don't do the same. From what I've heard, the concession sales per ticket go way up when this is done, and I can easily see why. Any reasons why this wouldn't work in most theaters?  |  IP: Logged Daryl C. W. If you were to combine the ticket and concession lines in a busy theatre your CPP would go up but your attendance would go down. However, selling tickets at the concession stand works for theatres with slow matinees and / or low attendance. BTW, both RDS and OmniTerm's ATM software will handle concession 'vouchers'. Changing the screen bitmaps on either takes only a few seconds... it's as simple as copying the files to the machine, which you can do across your LAN (or even WAN... which ideally would be the case in all good companies).  |  IP: Logged
