People on phones are getting really nasty when you give them dirty looks in restaurants, etc. I just think they look a bit stupid yammering on and on about nothing, and having everyone around them listening in on it. I got to hear a violent argument the other night at Wendy's (an American burger joint) The phone person was screaming, cursing, and generally spoiling everyones dinners. When the person on the other end of the conversation hung up, the phone user just laid the phone down and continued eating. Like nothing happened. Steven: One incident I witnessed on a York to London train (the early one, which gets you to London for a 9am meeting) would have put a smile on your face. I got on (in the 'no mobiles' carriage of course!) and sat down opposite a woman engrossed in a trivial conversation. She finished her call just as the train started moving, suddenly looked concerned and asked me what station we'd just left. 'Oh shit', was her reply when she discovered that she'd been too busy with her call to get off at her station. The next stop? King's Cross, 200 miles away!  |  IP: Logged
