FYI, I'm not chafed. Although I'm not sure if I could have kids now.

Most naturists prefer activities in the open air, and have
chapels for sabbath services in wooded glades, volleyball courts on sandy beaches, and outdoor swimming pools at their freikorperkulterlagen or clothes-optional resorts.

I feel sorry for those naturists who have to patronize indoor cinemas, when movies al fresco would be so much more agreeable.

So, Gerard, are you saying that there is money to be made by the first one of us to set up a mobile projection system somewhere out in the woods so that people can come to watch movies outdoors with no clothes on?

Hmmm... I think I just found a new reason to get my old Century out of the basement and get it running!

Yes, Bruce McGee and I have met. Bruce was driving down to North Atlanta to visit his sister, so I suggested that he and I meet at the local Hooters for beer, wings, and film talk. I was a little surprised when Bruce showed up dressed as one of the Hooters girls; but he did have nice legs.

Hay, how about a naked film-tech get together; on second thought, not a great idea.

A picture of ME is on the way, but seeing as it has taken me sooooooooo long to get this done, Brad will probably take his time posting it. (I can't blame you Brad).

Unfortunately for outdoor showings, late evenings would be necessary, and that's when the mosquitoes come out. Viewers would have to be itching to see those films -"and that in deed, and not in word alone".

Bruce H. said alot more about my legs, but I really think it was just the beer talking... Or was it?

I must have made a good impression. I got to see Bruce's place on Lake Hartwell the next time I was down in Georgia. [Eek!]

Personally, I would not want to sit my nakedness on some of the theatre seats that I have seen recently.

Other than that, I see nothing wrong with a bunch of naked people watching films.

Well, Bruce, it wouldn't matter much anyway. They may all be naked but they are all sitting in the dark! They can't see (much of) each other whether their clothes be on or off!

Oh yeah, everybody, I've seen Randy, too.

We sat at a Waffle House and got all tanked up on coffee.

Never saw any nakedness, thankfully.

In the theatre, I think that if the patrons will be naked, they should bring towels to sit on (previously stated) and keep their shoes on. Who knows what they may step / slide on.

[quote[ The human body is a beautiful thing, God did not make trash, so why are we so ashamed of our bodies? [/quote]

SOME human bodies (okay... very few) are beautiful things. The majority are nasty, smelly, greasy, disease-carrying, stretched-out, blemished, overgrown, parasite-infested masses floating through life like lumps of crap slowly waiting to decay.

When someone farts with pants on, it's bad enough. But a bare ass ripping it in the concession line would be way too much.

Just look at how some people appear or behave when fully clothed, and that will make you think twice about having any naked screenings... no one wants to see that shit. [eyes]

Here are a few facts about naturists..

for the most part, they participate as a group. Membership is almost always required. Most naturists practice excellent grooming and cleanliness, including body hair trimming or removal. At most functions, it is customary to bring TWO towels. One to sit on, one to carry as a spare in case you need to quick cover up. It is considered very rude to violate any of these general rules. Also, behavior is of the utmost highest quality, so as not to get booted from whatever place they were able to get into our out to.

naturists in general do not do this for kicks, but rather because they prefer to be au natural. They actually get dressed to turn on or get turned on. Most of them do not find nudity very arousing, but rather just something that comes with ... ahem.. nature?

Look, don't ask me how I know this stuff. I just do. That's what I do. i know stuff. [fu]

Ciao

Not a lot of money, but you might get free or discounted accommodations for yourself and family, plus a small stipend for your service as "visiting professor/showman," if you were to join one of the national or regional naturist or nudist or sunbathing associations and tour some of the locations bringing good movie programs to the members.

You'll find the locations vary greatly from undeveloped campgrounds to country-club gated communities, and the members from strict life-style adherents eschewing tobacco and alcohol, favoring health and environmental conservation, to those with a more casual lifestyle with a coctail hour and golf tourneys.

Forget about tickets and per-caps. Let the
group leaders provide the refreshments, while you present a varied program for each show, and admit everyone. With 16mm equipment in a van or mobile home you might spend a pleasant summer going cross-country stopping for a couple of days at each location. Most places will have an indoor rec hall with line voltage for indoor screenings in inclement weather, but outdoor screenings might be held around the pool or on a lawn, picnic area or chapel.

Most locations are family-oriented clubs or resorts, with couples with young children, and a scattering of elderly pioneers. In some places middle-school kids are under-represented, since they've grown bored with same-old vacations with their parents and opt out for specialized camps with their peer groups. And at puberty they tend to be self-conscious about their changing bodies, and prefer clothed vacations until they are older, when they are likely to rejoin naturist/nudist activities.

Many clubs have a healthy mix of social classes, while a few are more exclusive clubs of fairly wealthy members.
Sports and hobbies such as swimming, boating, hiking, fishing, birding, mycology, composing and playing musical instruments, literature, etc. attract many.

Search the web for information on organizations and individual clubs and resorts. You'll find maps and photos. With some research and preparation, I think you can have a fine summer or series of weekends, make many friends, and have the real satisfaction of showmanship without the economic risk of a conventional theatre.

Here's to sunny days! [beer]

hmm, isn't body hair natural? not to be literal or anything, but i would think retention of one's body hair would be consistent with the ethos of the movement.

Dave -- I've seen some stuff about Naturists on TV (both The Learning Channel and Comedy Central, hehe) and while most of them seem like nice people, there are more than a few I would have to distance myself from. Not one to judge in this world of postmodernist thinking, but some people really DO need to be ashamed of their bodies... for the sake of others.

And it's interesting what you say about them being "turned on" by clothes. I've met a few girls who looked absolutely hot, but when they took it all off... eeh... nothing to write home about. Maybe it's the whole imagination factor about what "might" be underneath! [Wink]

Carl,

It's the same as with facial hair. It's a personal decision whether an individual shaves daily, or sports a beard, moustache or sideburns. So it is with body grooming.

Though comfort, fashion and hygiene play a part, the decision is individual, and while the topic is sometimes discussed in the naturist press--especially by newbies--I don't think any club or resort has any policy about grooming body hair.
