I for one would feel more appreciated if the companies we work for would pay overtime. I can't stand hearing: "The entertainment business isn't required to pay overtime. [fu]

...In California I'd like to see a company try and get away with not paying over time.
A company I worked for and a company with a competing theater to where I work both had issues with paying overtime and it bit them in the a$$.
...Thankfully my company doesn't pull that crap. I had way too much overtime last year. Hopefully we'll be properly staffed this summer, but I'm sure I'll still get some OT in.

I don't get overtime pay, but if I work 60 hour weeks with films like Star Wars opening, in a couple weeks, I may only work 20-30 hours. I make up for it and our company supports that. The GM should know when he/she needs to be there for business.

Many theatres stay open when people aren't doing a good job. Fact is that if a theatre is the "BIG NEW THING" customers will go, regardless of quality experience. That is why we have to to BETTER to protect our market share. I preach this to employees often. We aren't the biggest so we have to try to be the best.
