Brad Allen had it right. T-Shirt Bags. We give them out to every car that enters the theatre at the boxoffice. At the end of the night I make a standard announcement over the PA system.
"Folks, if any of you happen to have any trash at your vehicle from the concessions stand, please place it in the little white plastic bag that Ms. Nancy gave you down at the boxoffice tonight. Place your trash in the bags, tie up the handles, and slip them over one of the parking posts either to the right or left side of your vehicle - as it will make it so much easier for our parking staff to clean up the field to get ready for tommorrow nights show."
Grab one BIG trash baqg from inside and then go around and pick up the neatly tied up trash bags. We have a 250 car lot, and it takes us about 10 minutes tops.
One of the good things about picking up trash at the drive-in.... "Cash & Prizes". So far this year, my son has gotten a new Game Boy, cash, walkman radios, etc. I'm always amazed at the amount of expensive stuff that people drive off and leave and never even bother to return for it. I keep shoes and various clothing items for 1 week then I toss them.
