Richard can't hold a job. That's his 'life story'. He'd
better wake up and smell the coffee. He'll NEVER get anywhere
with the attitude he exhibits... to wit: hitting up on female
employees; going in with 'enormous' amount of experience (one
month) in the booth. Blah, blah, blah. The world DOES NOT owe him a living, he must EARN it. I spent 35 years in the booth.
The last twenty years in ONE booth; not because of false ego,
but, I loved the work so much. If Richard ever came to me look-
ing for a job, after a very 'brief'look at his resume, I'd have
to say, "Not here... go somewhere else to 'play'." Sorry Rich,
THIS is the REAL WORLD!.

1 month in the booth?
Going on 2 years in the booth thank you. I also have studied and researched booth operations. I KNOW what I'm doing in a booth as far as daily operations go. That's more than most booths have.
I'm not going to include this job on my resume, or any applications for that matter. I'm trying to get in to computers, I'm good at that and I'm studying that. Yeah, I screwed them, but oh well. You move on. It didn't work for me and I wasn't going to be miserable in front of the customers for the next 2 weeks. I wasn't there for even 2 weeks.
I'm 22, I need to start going into a career, not a job. The only way an employer will find out about the AMC job is if they visit this site.
I just recently moved out of my parents house and I need to set my life on track, it may mean that I find a job and not like it, that's just the way life goes. I'm going for my ultimate goal...
So, It's not that I need to grow up, it's that I need some more world experience. I need to decide what is ultimately improtant for me. Right now that is making rent, in the next year it is getting a career in my field of study.
And, to set the record straight....I don't hit on female employees at work...I talk about it on here because I am a young guy and I thoink it's fun assigning "Greco" numbers to girls...I like girls...that's normal...You also don't know ANYTHING about my previous experience. As far as I remember, I have only discussed my employment at Carmike, Domino's, Fun-Lan, and AMC......That's 4 jobs since I have been 19? the past 3 years? I know some people who go through that many jobs in a year...Frankly Floyd, You in my opinion ![[fu]](graemlins/fu.gif) off....
Were you aware that I served in the Navy???
How about that I was in the hospital for 2 weeks in Feb 2004 and almost died?
From your other replies to what I have said on here, I wouldn't want to work for you. I think you would be a horrible boss.

I think I am done with movie theater work. I needed a wake up call to get out of the rut I am in. I have an ultimate goal and am working for that.

You need to understand that we live in a service economy. Regardless of whether it's computers or theatre floor staff, you need to approach it with the understanding that work is only part of the job. It's also good public relations skills that contributes to future success. It's not about quitting a job you don't like (at least, wait until you find something better). Those gaps in your resume will be telling.

This is an example of your attitude that may need some adjusting. Usually this
is the other way around. If the company screwed you, find a way to get over it. But when you're the one who admits screwing them and then moving on with the phrase "oh, well," it reflects a callousness of personality.

Uh, are people now supposed to feel ashamed at saying the things they are saying because of your hospitalization? I suffered a bad hospital visit several years ago, but would never consider bringing it up to make people feel guilty about what they said. It truly has nothing to do with the issue at hand.

Probably a good idea. I seem to remember a time when you complained because an usher recommended people to stay after the end credits to see an extra scene. Somehow that good example of customer service was bothersome to you because you felt inconvenienced. Keep in mind, however, that these kind of skills come into play no matter what industry you go to work for.
