Yah... our bank charges us to deposit cash. We're probably changing next season.

Our bank started charging a fee to deposit cash in excess of $200 per month. The account was moved to another bank, one that doesn't charge cash fees. A couple months later the branch manager of bank #1 saw our G.M. on the street and asked why we hadn't been in for a while. When he was told we were very annoyed about the cash deposit fees, he arranged to drop them. Our account certainly is nothing to a mega billion dollar bank, but managers apparently have some strings to pull in order to keep accounts.

Jack - try WAMU. When I told the manager at my branch that I would just get an extra of their free checking accounts, deposit cash into it and then write a check to deposit in my regular account he solved the problem instantly.

We installed one card reader for ticket sales and paid $1000 fees in the first six months.
Forget cards....use ATM's....they don't slow up your ticket sales/candy bar but as Jack said they may not spend as much.
The deals for ATM's down here are great.
They install the machine and the telephone line....train your staff....attend to breakdowns....and you can actually make money out of having one.It's also a great place to store cash when it is topped up each night.It's also a great float when you run short of notes.Just make sure you position the ATM in a real obvious spot before they get to the Box Office.

Oh and yes we charge for CC transactions at our sites that don't have an ATM.
One of our biggest companies in Australia "Telstra" who run our telephones charges a fee if you pay your bill online with a CC!!!
