Assuming you have the money in-hand?? Have you got a cost estimate as to what a twin screen drive-in on 15 acres of commercial land will cost in New York state? How much of an operating season you have? What it will take to make it cash flow?

I can't speak for anyone else, but I know I spent over $700k for a single screen drive-in 4 years ago in "B.F.E" Tennessee, and within 2 years we put a second screen for another $35k. To do it all again today would probably cost closer to $1M... just a guess-timate though.

Could you do it cheaper? Sure, but I know cheap when I see it, and my customers do to. When we put up our second screen, we built a pole screen for $17k versus the same sized Selby screen for $60k. Although both screens are identical in size, we still have customers who refuse to watch movies on the "cheap screen".

Like is said this is really in the very very early just started talkng about it phase. We have a few locations in mind and are going later this month to look around for some land. I guess a more realistic goal would to be to shoot for 2-4 years rather than next season. This is why i brought this question to this sight. We are new to the buisnese opening our small 2 screen 2nd run/independant house. Thank you every one for all of the feedback so far. I think the next step after finding the land would be to put together a buisnese plan and go from there.
