If you ever listened to the soundtrack of a science fiction film you noticed that the characters talk ever so softly and you are almost struggling to hear them then there is a loud blast as the monster appears. If you think shaky camera adds to the nervous immediacy of a scene, fine then you have to have some slow paced and steady scenes around it to supply contrast.
