The theatres in the town I grew up in changed twice a week. Thursday-Saturday, and Sunday-Wednesday.

Not really. Those advances are applied to whatever you wind up owing. If there's anything left over, the rest is credited toward your next booking or (on your request) refunded to you. Except for the studios' "minimum rent", advances are not technically "guarantees", as we define the term.
