I have heard a rumor that "the powers that be" (probably someone from NATO) are trying to convince Fox to push that DVD date back so more of the smaller theatres have a chance to play it. Mind you, I did not hear this rumor through any "official" channel, but I have reason to believe it might have merit.

Whether the studio will cave is a whole other question, but from what I understand it's not unprecedented.
