Wow, I figure I average about 1.5 beers a day...that would be a shocking [Eek!]

18 gal. a year. For this area, I consider myself a light drinker. I've got a couple acquaintances who drink at least a 6 pack a day. That ads up to 205 gal. per year. That's a number I would consider impressive (or excessive) @ $20/ case that's about $1822/yr.

You don't quite understand that most people are social drinkers at most and the heavy drinkers are the ones that make up for everyone else. I'm not saying 4 pints a week is heavy drinking; I'm saying that the people of Milwaukee drink about twice as much beer as the rest of the country.

William Stevenson is my good friend and has been for almost twenty years. It is a good thing he goes by William F. Stevenson and lives in Naples Florida and is a semi retired professional photographer like me and not that stupid jerk that started this thread.

I feel it did. Everything you asked indicated you were not understanding what I said. I mention something about average drinking and you acted like I was saying the amount itself was massively excessive.

But none of those numbers were about the "heavy drinking subset." Those numbers were on average adults, not average heavy drinking adults.

I'm sure that if you only looked at individual heavy drinkers, then they'd probably each drink about as much as each other (whether in Milwaukee or not). It just so happens that there are more heavy drinkers in Milwaukee than other places. But again, those numbers I gave are NOT about the heavy drinking subsets. Even in Milwaukee, most people aren't heavy drinkers.

On the other hand, my mom and dad said that when I was in preschool they had a PTA meeting with a keg. So take that for what it's worth.

But really, the reason there's more drinking there is pretty simple:
There's quite a few breweries in town.

edit: Though actually, I think my numbers may have been wrong. I'm going based on what I remember from over 20 years ago but they definitely drank more there than elsewhere.

it shows that Wisconsin has an avg in the 36-40 gallon per person per year.
