Paul Gordon Jedi Master Film Handler Posts: 580 From: Ottawa, Ontario, Canada Registered: Aug 2005 posted 05-11-2011 06:01 AM                        The Lightbox was made for the festival, but since they have decided to run films all year long by moving the Ontario Cinematique an filling the other screens with arthouse fare they are also hurting all the single screen reps in the area. Again we have a non-profit festival with federal, provincial and municipal funding hurting small mom and pop cinemas. An regarding it being the only 70mm 5-perf venue in Canada they are wrong. The Ontario Cinesphere (in Toronto!) and the Museum of Civilization in Gatineau, Quebec can both run 70mm with 6-track mag or DTS.  |  IP: Logged Tom Petrov Five Guys Lover Posts: 1121 From: El Paso, TX Registered: Jan 2003 posted 05-11-2011 06:41 AM                    Hey Paul Have you had a chance to go the Lightbox. Theatre 1 is state-of-the-art....I mean, a really outstanding cinema. It has a balcony as well. IMO, the lightbox should be showing some mainstream Hollywood fare. I will agree with Peter Howell, the theatre is being horribly marketed. There is NO outside marquee listing the movies, no standard movie posters on the main level.
