It's a particularly nice gesture since they play many arthouse and indie titles that are tough to find posters for after their initial run. For example, I'd still love to find an original US one-sheet for the UK film "Bronson" that came out a few years ago. However, it only played in a handful of theaters here in the states and I've never seen one turn up from it.  |  IP: Logged Paul Mayer Oh get out of it Melvin, before it pulls you under! Presently my collection is contained in mover's mirror boxes - six of them containing about 40 posters each. Each poster is kept flat in a mylar sleeve along with a thin sheet of buffered acid-free backing board or art card stock. Clumsy to move, but at least it doesn't take up much space. Frank's boxes look like they'd be a better solution. The case of posters getting brittle enough to crack when unrolling/unfolding them is usually due to the acid in the paper starting to attack the paper. Cardboard is especially bad in storage applications due to its high acid content. I've not had any cracking or tearing issues since beginning to use sleeves and acid-free backings - some of my posters date back to the mid-'70s. But once you get up to those high numbers, you better have the thing already sitting on a dolly so you can move it.  |  IP: Logged
