"... remember. No matter where you go... there you are."

-- The Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai (Across the 8th Dimension)
-- Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome

For the record, that's a bad one liner that I just happen to love. And Buckaroo Banzai's full of them.

"Character is what you are in the dark."

I'm familiar with the Plan 9 "stupid minds" quote. In fact, if I remember correctly, the alien get slugged by the captain right after the quote is finished. You lost me on the others though.

I thought this one was a real groaner.

"I thought Christmas only comes once a year."

"You have to take these."
"What are they?"
"Charcoal."
"Charcoal?"
"Charcoal, so I can start a fire in your heart."

"Sometimes, when someone is trying to tell you something, they're trying to tell you something."

Both from "Loser" last night, which seemed to live up to its name as far as the business it did (only 40-50 people in the 7:30 showing at the busiest theatre in town).

Well those lines from "Loser" take the prize as far as I'm concerned. "Charcoal so I can start a fire in your heart." Why didn't they just say:

"Did it hurt?"
"Did what hurt?"
"When you fell from heaven?"

"is that a mirror in your pocket,...because i can see myself in your pants"
--Night at the Roxbury
oh wait that was funny nm

Has anyone seen that really bad independeent film called Jack frost? where the snowman is a serial killer. ugh that was bad. either way going back to your 007 liner after the scene where the snowman places his carrot nose on the area where his groin would be and rapes some girl in a bathtub, he then exclaims terribbly

"ahhhhhh, Christmas comes but once a year"

and my personal favorite

"dont eat yellow snow!"

Okay this is from my favorite movie of all time, but it's a really bad line.

Jenny: "Neville Sinclair is a...?"

Neville: "A what? Nazi? Saboteur? Fascist?
All of the above."

I think that Patriot was laden with stupid lines - I mean, come on, it was 3 hours long.

Example: the black guy finds out all slaves who fight will win their freedom

white guy "Freedom? What're you gunna do with freedom?"

On a sort of related note (well not really), has anyone ever noticed amusing names in the credits? If my memory serves me correctly, the transportation captain for American Beauty was "Randy Lovelady". I'm serious!

OK I got one for ya..

The film: DOLEMITE (classic blaxploitation film)

The scene: Dolemite ditches his bit#*es in the car and the car pulls over to deal with whitey. Two white guys stick thier heads in the car and say:

"We Want Dolemite, give hime to us'
"He aint in here"
"yes he is, wheres he hidin"
"He aint in here stupid"

Here is where it gets bad...

"Shes right, hes not in here"

MIND YOU THEY WERE LOOKING IN THE CAR THE WHOLE TIME!!!

In the film "The Children", about kids who come into contact with toxic waste and subsequently touch people with hands of destruction, a guy is killed and a cop and this other character pull off to the side of the road to investigate. His remains are charred and burnt beyond recognition and their is partially denuded bone poking through the burned corpse. The two characters approach the lifeless form. One checks a pulse and says,...
"He's dead".
I nearly pissed myself.
