I looked up some sources about DIET MELLO YELLO and found the following items: Mello Yello is a citrus flavored soft drink that, in countries that permit it, has a very high caffeine content. It is a product of the Coca-Cola Company and was introduced in 1979. A diet version is available in some markets. The undisputed market leader in this market segment is PepsiCo's Mountain Dew. Coca-Cola responded with Mello Yello. While it is greatly outsold, the product allows Coke to compete in this segment. The original marketing theme for Mountain Dew was a hillbilly one. Coke counter marketed by emphysising the urbane jazz related Mello Yello. However when Pepsi switched Mountain Dew to a so-called extreme sports theme, this panicked Coke, which changed Mello Yello tag line to "there is nothing mellow about it" and placed extreme sports characters on the packaging. Coke then launched Surge, which was a similar flavored soft drink but green colored and without the "mellow" name. So as far as I know it is still manufactured by COKE, but only in certain areas..I don't want you to get into an agruement over DIET MELLO YELLO though (lol).. I'll e-mail Jason and ask him to be on the look out for it! Thanks BOB! ALSO, I can get all the Mello Yello you want.. but no Diet MY... The strange thing is that I can order MELLO YELLO & then drive down to Newport,RI (about a 30 minute ride for me) and get MELLO YELLO, which is shipped in from the COKE plant in Hamburg, PA, but they don't bottle the DIET MELLO YELLO, just MELLO YELLO. I was talking to the Grocery Manager where I get the MY from and he said the "Area" that MELLO YELLO is available is from Newport, RI south, through Connecticut and parts of New York. And last time I checked out SODAFINDER for DIET MELLO YELLO, shipping was $80! Just for shipping! Not including the $12 for a 12 pack. It would have been over $100. for ONE 12-pack! Since I had a 7:30 AM commercial art class, I would drink Mello Yello instead of coffee. I don't recall seeing it out here lately, but I am one of those strange fellows who buys generic cola.
