That "Ghostbusters" cartoon with the ape was actually based on a live-action TV show made sometime in the 70's. I never saw the original show but did see a videotape on a shelf once saying something like "The ORIGINAL Ghostbusters!" I watched the cartoon often just cause it was in stereo.

* After a nationwide search, newcomer Omar Benson Miller has been tapped to star as famed '70s cartoon character Fat Albert in 20th Century Fox/Davis Entertainment's live-action feature of the same name. Production is slated to begin next month in Los Angeles and Philadelphia with Forest Whitaker directing. The project follows Fat Albert and his posse of friends, who come to life when they walk out of the cartoon and into the real world, resulting in havoc and high jinks. Bill Cosby and Charles Kipps wrote the original draft of the screenplay, which is inspired by Cosby's long-running CBS cartoon "Fat Albert and the Cosby Kids."

Fuhgeddaboutit for this Xmas. Filming has shut down and the original director quit because of the ever-famous "creative differences".

Those creative differences you speak of is that Forrest Whitiker wanted to take the picture in an entirely different direction than bill cosby did. Whittaker has been let go by cosby, and unless the studio can calm these hotheads down, they will be searching for a new director.

After all, cosby may be funny, but he hasnt always been a hit maker. He had fat albert and the cosby show, but then there were other shows such as...

COSBY - funny but no real bite, cancelled quickly
THE BILL COSBY SHOW - his first show fresh off of the vegas strip, once again funny, but no real bite, lasted a short while
LEONARD PART SIX - Aparrently the first five parts were even more dumb than this film
THE COSBY MYSTERIES - all they did in this is try to figure out the mystery of why no one was watching this program
I SPY - now this was a good series, but the reunion bits that cosby and robert culp did were nothing more than watching matlock hang around with barney fife. BOOOORING....
GHOST DAD - it was a cute film, a perfect jello commercial...
JELLO - living in utah, you get tired of this crap, You know that Bill Cosby came to utah to recieve a plaque from our governor because our state of utah proclaimed JELLO as our official state food. Forget that fact that JELLO IS NOT A FOOD PRODUCT...

I see a fat albert movie bieng as good at josie or even charlies angels. I say let it drop forever and leave the show where it belongs, in our history.
