Well, Gordon, that's one way to get around the issue. Too bad it backfired.

But these guys in Washington State were so dumb at the time of the carbon arc days that they did not know the difference between a carbon stub and a cigarette. In fact, the fire inspector "lit one off" (USN Slang) in the booth. It was the only place he could do it.

I spent most of the time hanging out of mine to tell people to not park in the cinema Parking it had a big sign saying CINEMA Parking ONLY.

Thats all there was in most mid-west theatres. Wall mounted buttons were rare. A friend form Portland came to chicago once to visit and also found the pedals odd.
