I hope John Wilson and others from Oz haven't been hit by the Sydney fires. They must be bad as they're being reported as one of the leading news stories here, second only to some loony from South London who just tried to blow up an airliner.

Happy Holidays all! What a treat, we were having a brown/green Christmas here around 2pm yesterday, started our dinner and by today (Boxing Day), we've got a foot and a half of snow! Time to pull the skis out! How was it on your side of the lake John P.?

I survived Christmas yet again!! Way too many hours of driving. Only fell through the attic floor/bedroom ceiling once. That was a pain!! I learned to assemble toys with too many pieces at 1:00 a.m. Christmas eve.

Nashville Christmas's are too cold with never any snow. All of the theatre's around here seemed to be doing quite well over the weekend and holidays. Of course all of the theatres me and my family attend were all showing "Closed for the Season", and "See You Next Spring"!!

I hope everyone had a good one, and I look forward to seeing you all here among the pages of Film-Tech next year.

Christmas in Rochester was a green one. Drove to Angola NY (south of Buffalo) for Christmas Day dinner with my sister's family --- the New York State Thruway was clean and dry (and salty), but lots of snow along the sides of the road around Buffalo. Yesterday's lake effect snow BURIED Buffalo, which now has about two metres of snow on the ground (in just a few days), and the snow plumes from Lake Erie even reached Rochester, making the drive home last night very slippery with lots of accidents. This weekend, the winds shift north (from Canada) across Lake Ontario, so we expect lots of the white stuff in Kodak town (Rochester NY). The ski slopes around Rochester are very happy today.

Its been snowing steadily here for five days now, with a grand total of 73 inches or 186 cm !!!

As our beloved former mayor said in '77, "Grab a six pack and stay home."
