Damn Bill? What the hell did I miss? I go to a few olympic events and I apparently missed a good ol hootenanny!!!As I stated, I was playing devil's advocate. Those not familiar with the term, refers to one representing a possible opinion, not directly related to the person doing the representation. In other words, I felt it necessary to take an opposing stance in order to facilitate a more open debate on the subject, rather than just a bunch of beer buddies (which we are) from just going, WASSUUUUUP!!! I myself do not believe in religeon, and probably don't even spell it right. I am even questionable on this God fellow, and wonder where the hell is he anyway? I always find wonderful simalarities from history drawn to current times. There was an unofficial and now historical study done by a kindergarden teacher. The study she embarked on was not authorized and it cost her entire career. The children were told that children with blue eyes were different from other children, that they were not as smart, as good, and could be evil (statements simplified for purposes of the fact that It has been 14 years since I finished my schooling). By lunchtime, all of the blue eyed kids were segregated by the rest of the kids. They were taunted and teased (it may have been the brown eyed kids, cant remember which color now). It was groundbreaking research that taught a large lesson in bigotry. We used to tell our children that certain color people are bad, and many of us still do this. Horrible but true. We have gangs that kill over colors. Dr King was right to hope for color blindness in all peoples, and end the hate caused by something as silly as color. Even religeons have thier basis in color. It was years before most mainstream religeons even allowed NON white people in the doors. I side with the theater, that if a posted rule is not obeyed, than no admittance. However if it is applied subjectively instead of across the board, you open up the interpretation and enforcement to people who truly do not understand that color is a gift, not a curse. There is plenty of hatred to go around, and I hate hats. Always have, always will. I think hats are for guys who dont want to admit they are losing thier hair, and for women who are veign enough to think it makes them look anything other than rediculous. And as for religeous garb of any kind? Do some reasearch and you will find that God and Religeon were created to scare the common man into fear and submission by people only interested in power and the riches that come with it. Ok maybe I cant prove that GOd doesnt exist, and I hope he does, because only he can save my lame ass. dave

Actually,Hats have a practical side to them (and I am not a hat wearer). Aside from helping to maintain the temperture of one's head for health reasons, they also provide a substantial block to harmful sun radiation. In fact, the Governor of Maryland recently had cancer surgury on the top of his head that would have been avoided had he been a hat wearer out of doors. If you are going to pick on customary clothing, go for ties, especially the non-bow variety, whats up with them? I'm no fashion critic but while a Tux with a bow-tie is just fine by me, a conventional tie with a suit just looks silly to me. And what's with the 4 or so buttons on the sleeves of men's suits? They don't button anything. Steve ------------------ "Old projectionists never die, they just changeover!"

Damn Buttons!!!I hate ties, and wear tieless shirts or polo shirts with my suit coats. I CUT OFF THE BUTTONS!!! I can see the point on hats. takes the place of hair for the hairless to prevent cancer and create heat in very cold places. But as a religeous or fashion statement, its a no brainer. Meaning it takes no brains to come up with any ol damn rule you want to. As for confusing religeon and spirituality, I never do. regigeon has nothing to do with the other. I am a deeply spiritual person, in a very druid sort of way, as I am from druidia. Dave
