Aaron,
I thought Gandalf being dragged into the depths of Moria was portrayed spot on. It was a stupid accident in that he was caught unawares by the desperate action of the Balrog's whip.
Perhaps we should both reread the appropiate passage.

The main change i could see was with the introduction of Arwen. The neclace she gave to Aragorn was actually given to Frodo.

Did I see it wrong or did Gandalf intentionally let go to stop Frodo coming to save him?
