Author Topic: You Owe Me Splice Tape John Walsh Film God Posts: 2490 From: Connecticut, USA, Earth, Milky Way Registered: Oct 1999 posted 09-17-2002 10:09 PM                     It's tought to pick whether to do one or both sides, but after having to run a lot of film for producer evaluation/acquisition, I was real glad to get reels in with tape on both side. (This is where they will watch only a reel or two, sometimes jumping up a few reels, then tell you to put on something else. You might go through 10-12 features in about 8 hours.) It depends on what side the tape is on and the projector. Emulsion side on a Simplex, and you hardly knew. I don't know how you define residue, but once the tape is pulled off of the film, there should not be any marks or stickiness left on the film where you have to go back and pick at it again because it tore or you have to wipe the area truly clean. Although CPI is one of the better tape out there, it does leave residue...moreso with double sided splicing. Your prints are more apt to have another frame whacked by the next guy if you do not break down with Neumade.  |  IP: Logged Steve Guttag We forgot the crackers Gromit!!! As to the next guy whacking off another frame, that is his/her problem, not mine...they don't need to.
