It´s jsut short for Gunnar, and works well when entering high-scores on pinball machines, which happens a lot. You can look it up in every good theory book. You were very close to the truth. In German, the double bass is called Kontrabass (and in Sweden probably too), and there is also the term Kontrabasstuba for the very big, low orchestral tuba, sometimes used to distinguish it from other typers of tubas.  |  IP: Logged
