It's not uncommon to have 1000+ there if I'm lazy about cleaning it up (there are about 4 real messages a week). I don't generally sort or delete non-spam messages. I don't have any disk space problems so the folder size isn't an issue. When outlook 2000 starts to get sluggish I archive messages. OFF TOPIC: How the hell do I get spam messages that show as already being read, when I know I haven't read them and do not use a preview window????  |  IP: Logged Jason Burroughs Jedi Master Film Handler Posts: 654 From: Allen, TX Registered: Jun 99 posted 06-27-2003 10:03 PM                     For what its worth, Outlook PSTs have a practical size limit of 2GB, I have worked with users that have exceeded this size. Only thing to do at that point is to use a PST cropping tool. Since I'm not at my work computer, I don't know how many messages are in my Inbox and subfolders, but Sent Items is over 2000. So, if you use Outlook or Outlook express, I suppose that's one way it could happen. Unless of course someone else has your password. That's another way. On any given day, I may receive around 60 pieces of SPAM. It takes less than 10 seconds to delete all all of it. I just shift-click the entire block of new mail and then scroll through to find any "real" messages. I control-click those out of the selection and hit the delete key. I hope the spam marketers die of brain cancer from trying to think of new ways how to spell Viagara to get it past mail filters.  |  IP: Logged Paul G. I have it screwed down tight, and have it set to accept about 125 different email addresses from friends and businesses. On accassion, I get about 2 to 5 spams per week on shuttershaft email address. I delete, report, and automatically block those addresses. The remaining AOL email addresses I have receive no spam at all, even though I haven't set up any mail controls on them yet. It has filtered 8,462 spam messages in the last 6 months. I wish it would do more! I am sooo tired of all the straight porno, viagra, mortgage, bootleg, underage, etc crap I could scream! AOL and Microsoft have teamed up to reduce the amount of Spam. However, simply deleting it without reporting it will just slow their efforts down.  |  IP: Logged
