The first five years are spent telling friends and family that it's just something to do until you finish school and get the "real" job. After that there is too much projector oil and popcorn butter in the blood to do anything else! Really can't imagine doing anything else. Early films shown include "Alfie", "Georgy Girl", "Bonnie and Clyde", "The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly", and "Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?". Projected my first reel of film in 1963, at the age of six. It was some sort of short, another cartoon I think, being shown with Disney's 'The Sword in the Stone'; my first visit to a cinema. I can't remember what the machines were; they looked big! I've run 70mm just once, LOA in about 1975, I was running half a pair of DP-70s; I was on one machine, and somebody else was on the other. Also run plenty of 16mm, and video from time to time, but never 3-D, Cinerama, or anything else odd like that. Time to retire soon, I think.  |  IP: Logged
