I run it regularily and it keeps my PC nice and clean. One of the pieces of crap that can cause pop-ups, even when you have NO browser running and are just sitting there (assuming you have an always-on connection) is called 2nd Thought. Their website is stc.com, and it has a removal tool on it. If you are running 95 or 98 there is also something called the W95/Loader trojan which you might look into. This appears to be a helper program that loads on your PC to help the other crap install itself. Ad Aware, and a good pop up stopper program like pop up stopper (free from panicware.com) can help quite a bit.  |  IP: Logged Joe Redifer You need a beating today Posts: 12859 From: Denver, Colorado Registered: May 99 posted 10-16-2003 03:21 PM                        I just updated the latest security updates for Windows 2000 Professional, and AdAware no longer works. It starts scanning but eventually freezes. It's the latest version of AdAware. Nothing else has changed.
